Expanded Trailer Features

Our split entry layout features a customizable, full-height upper deck. This allows easy flow from the side-entry door into the front nose deck area, through the upper deck to the rear, and out the rear doors via ramp.

In this layout, the main deck is used for transporting all rolling, front ensemble equipment, while the upper deck is typically an open floor plan used for transporting field percussion and larger wind and brass instruments. Most commonly 28′ long, the 2nd floor can be shortened or extended to meet the needs of your band, to make more room for marching instruments, props, field equipment, and more. 

In most trailers, the 2nd floor gives you around 6’2″ of headroom, and 45″ of downstairs height. 

The Flying Carpet is a great solution for larger front ensemble organizations, as well as those that have caged-storage solutions. The 26-foot long second floor lowers all the way to the main deck for easy loading and unloading. Equipment can be secured using the tie-down hooks located along the edges. The floor can then be raised 72 inches to its transport position, allowing additional equipment to be loaded onto the main deck underneath, as well as the front nose deck area toward the front.

If you have a lot of props, or fluctuating front ensemble numbers, an open concept layout may work for you. Instead of building a second floor, the trailer maintains its complete interior height on one floor.

Sometimes a very specific need dictates a unique layout. We have made a handful of speciality layouts, built custom to fit the space.  University of Utah (below) need the 2nd floor at two different levels for their rolling equipment needs. 

Northwest Mississippi needed clear-span instrument storage for their dry-van semi trailer, but without attaching to the side walls. 

A hybrid between a fixed floor and flying carpet 2nd floor, the Flying 8 is a moveable 8, 10 or 12feet of 2nd floor, where it can raise an additional 16″ to store taller front ensemble equipment, without sacrificing 2nd floor storage space. 

The traditional entry layout was our first layout, featuring a side entry from the #2 doorway. This allowed a lower entry height, and a larger capacity front nose storage area. The 2nd floor is extended to 31 feet (as opposed to 28 feet in a split entry), and carves out a small landing where pop up tents, tools, and other first-out items can be stored for easy access. 

Part of our legacy products, the Rack-N-Roll elevated 2nd floor created a taller first floor, with a powered interior ramp to maximize rolling equipment storage.
