What is a Flying Carpet?

Clubhouse Trailers has created an innovative transportation solution for front-percussion-heavy marching bands.

First created in 2018, Clubhouse Trailer Company created The Flying Carpet, a hydraulic moving floor, typically installed in semi trailers. The Flying Carpet, most commonly 26 feet long, can lower to the 1st floor, and allow marimbas, vibraphones, xylophones, keyboard carts, speaker carts, and other equipment to be loaded in, secured to the floor, and then raised up to 72″ in the air in order to load more equipment on the 1st floor.

A low angle approach ramp makes loading simple, and 12 floor-mounted d-rings allow you to secure all of your equipment.

Standard Features

Flying Carpet-equipped marching band trailers come standard with our hallmark Clubhouse features.

Interior/Exterior Lighting

All trailers come equipped with upstairs and flying carpet 1st floor LED lighting. These low voltage, high-efficiency, low-profile lights provide plenty of illumination for late night load outs.

Additionally, we provide powerful LED flood lights to illuminate your surrounding camp.

Low Angle Approach Plate

Moving equipment from the 1st floor onto the Flying Carpet is seamless with a custom aluminum approach ramp.

Electrical Control System

All lights are easily controlled from a door-mounted switch panel.

Additionally, the power cabinet is mounted on the wall near the rear of the trailer. This cabinet houses deep cycle batteries, a solar charge controller, and a low-voltage disconnect circuit, so you can run all weekend on sunlight.

Additional Options

Other industry-first features are available to make your band trailer the most efficient it can be.

Rear Electric Full Width Ramp

Load & unload in record time with The Clubhouse Full-Width Electric Rear Ramp.

This 15 foot long bi-folding ramp utilizes a custom high-grip aluminum ramp plank, and takes up just 10 inches inside the back doors of the trailer while in transit. Operating the rear ramp are 4 electric actuators, giving you independent control of both sections of the ramp.

Manual Nose Ramp

If you need even more rolling equipment storage, a manual nose ramp folds down to gain access to the nose.

Manual or Electric Front Stairs

To gain access to the front nose area above the 5th wheel, a 6-step hinged staircase can be installed.

This staircase, coupled with a telescoping handrail, is made of aluminum with custom high-grip stair treads.

The Electric stairs can be raised and lowered into the trailer with a push of a button. The manual stairs can easily be raised by one student up into the doorway with a latch to keep it in place. These manual stairs can be purchased as a DIY Kit for self-install on your existing trailer.

Custom Nose Room Drumline Storage

The nose can be customized to house drumline equipment, or uniform racks, with a roof-mounted drumline carrier storage solution.
