Clubhouse Innovations

Since we opened our doors in 2010, we have been leading the industry in marching trailers. We have never stopped creating new solutions.

Timeline of Innovations

When Clubhouse was first started, no industry consisted of clever band parents, hard working volunteers, and creative band staff working together to create solutions for their programs. After creating the first trailer for our local high school, the new ideas continued flowing as each new program sought us out for trailer designs. Jeff leads the Clubhouse team with an enthusiasm to create solutions, and continues to innovate daily.

2009

»Modular Electronic Carts- Creation of the first modular electronic carts. Made from extruded aluminum, these adaptable carts paved the way for innovation in the marching logistics space.

»Modular Speaker Carts- Shortly after the modular electronic carts, anodized aluminum speaker carts took the field.

2010

» Director’s Perch- The first director’s perch, nicknamed “The Feroli Perch” is built on Bulldog One, giving directors a rallying spot before competition.

» Door Spans- The Clubhouse creates the first door span, created to allow a continuous second floor across doorways. More than 1,000 door spans exist today.

» First Trailer- Bulldog One Our first trailer, Bulldog One, rolls out during summer band camp 2010 to the Edmond Memorial Band. This 1988 Matlock was reconditioned and built inside Jeff’s small warehouse.

» Pull-out Guard Drawers- The first color guard drawers were installed in Bulldog One, creating functional storage underneath the trailer.

» Rear Diamond Tread- Bumper The diamondtread plate bumper was first created to make a statement going down the road. Today, the bumpers are synonymous with Clubhouse’s commitment to quality and innovation.

» Total 12 VDC LED Lighting- All interior and exterior lighting is powered from a lighting control cabinet, with deep cycle batteries and an extension cord inlet for charging.

» Traditional Entry- Our flagship “Traditional Entry” layout is developed, with easy entry through the #2 side door and up into the nose.

» Tubavator- The first Tubavator is installed in Bulldog One. Originally air-powered from the semi tractor, this pneumatic winch raises Tubas from the ground and onto the 2nd floor.

2011

» Rolling Uniform Rack Storage System- Rolling uniform carts are easy to organize uniforms for quick set up and changing, and easy loading in and out of trailers with a ramp.
» Towable Electronic Carts- The electronics and speaker carts are innovated to be connected to each other and towed away by a golf cart. This innovation means more equipment can be moved with less people.

» Towable Speaker Carts

2012

»Solar Power Integration- The first solar-equipped trailer is delivered to Coffee County High School in Douglas, Georgia.

»Towable Auxiliary Percusion Carts- Aluminum auxillary percussion racks are added to the towable lineup.

2013

»Roll-A-Ramps for Band Trailers- Clubhouse teams up with Roll-a-ramp to create a manual ramp system with heavy duty trailer deck plates and tool-less quick-place supports.

2014

»Hydraulic Ramp- Clubhouse creates the first full-width powered ramp for bands. This hydraulic bi-folding design is lightweight, takes up minimal floor space, and increases loading and unloading efficiency.

»Powered Interior Ramp- A first to second floor ramp (later called The Haltom Ramp) was created to add more rolling storage upstairs.

»Six Button Pendant Control- A six-button pendant began being installed in trailers, controlling the main ramp, as well as interior ramps.

»Tubavator – Hydraulic Powered- Utilizing the already existing hydraulic power unit for the ramp, the Tubavator is innovated to use a hydraulic cylinder, reducing the reliance on a semi-tractor.

2015

»Vertical Retracting Entry Stair- The first side entry stairs are created, and installed on a trailer for Killeen Texas. These easy-lift stairs utilized garage door springs to make lifting and lowering a breeze.

»Vertical Retracting Rear Stair- The rear stairs are innovated to the easy-lift system.

»Rolling Equipment Cages- Designed for use with higher interior floors

2016

»Lighting Time-Out Functions- Listening to customers who drained their batteries prematurely, Clubhouse implemented a lighting timer, which automatically turns off all the lights after 45 minutes to conserve power, as well as a low voltage disconnect that turns off lights when a critical power threshold is met.

»Low Voltage Disconnect Functions

»Powered Awnings- First seen on George Ranch’s trailer, powered awnings are a premium solution for bands wanting more shade during competitions.

2017

»Flying Carpet (26′ Moving Floor)- The first flying carpet floor is created for TCU. This 26′ second floor can raise from the 1st floor to 72″ high for increased packing density.

»Rolling Equipment Cages- Designed for use with Flying Carpet elevating floors

2018

»DIY Kits- First DIY Kits to allow programs with trailers to outfit their existing solutions with improvements.

2019

»Creation of Custom Non-Skid Ramp Planks- The Clubhouse engineers two custom extrusion dies for high-grip ramp and stair planks. The ramp planks are a proprietary bi-direction high-grip tread that increases traction on the ramp, while being smooth enough for rolling equipment.

»Creation of Custom Stair Treads

»Modular Shako Shelves- This shelving allows for customizable storage based on band size, while keeping everything secure on the road.

»Rear Powered Stairs- The 1st to 2nd floor staircase gets an upgrade, and now is powered by a 12 volt linear actuator.

»Smaller Trailer Solutions (24ft to 48ft)- Seeing a need for safety and efficiency in a smaller footprint, the Small Trailer Solutions lineup is developed. These bumper pull and gooseneck trailers are a great solution for smaller bands, or bands with additional transportation needs.

2020

»Flying Eight (8′ Moving Floor, limited travel)- A hybrid fixed floor and moving floor is developed, allowing the last 8 to 12 feet of 2nd floor to raise an additional 16″ inches to accommodate larger electronic carts.

»Powered Entry Stairs – Electric- The primary side entry stairs get an upgrade and now is powered by a 12 volt linear actuator.

»Electric Powered Ramp System- The Hydraulic Ramp is converted to electric power utilizing electric linear actuators – saves battery power and improves all-weather operation

»100th Trailer Delivered The Clubhouse delivers its 100th trailer, supporting Lake Travis High School Band in Austin, Texas.

»Tubavator – Electric Powered- The tubavator enters its 3rd (and current) version, powered by an electric actuator.
